SAGESSE, Société pour l'Amélioration, la Gestion et l'Exploitation des Solidarités Sociales Entreprises, is a family-owned group founded by Yves Journel.

In addition to managing its portfolio of direct and indirect shareholdings, SAGESSE's main activity, as head company and principal shareholder, is to manage companies operating in the health, medical-social, spa and service sectors.

For over 45 years, the Group has contributed to the development of services for people weakened by age or illness, mainly in France and secondarily in Spain, but also in Canada, and more recently in Portugal, Germany, Ireland and South America.

In 1983, the first Tiers Temps retirement home was opened in Paris, operated by the DomusVi company, followed by eight more between 1988 and 1991.

In 1991, Yves Journel set up an organization and resources enabling him to federate and harmonize the strategy and management of his Group and its related and complementary activities in the service of a single corporate project.

In 1994, in order to step up his investments, Yves Journel created Sagesse Retraite Santé, followed by Sagesse Retraite Sante Holding in 2003, in order to bring in institutional partners capable of financially supporting the Group's strong growth.

The birth and development of Groupe Sagesse/DomusVi are the result of an entrepreneurial conviction established in 1980, and never denied since, that it is also up to private entrepreneurs to meet the needs and aspirations of people made vulnerable by age or illness, alongside the public authorities, and to contribute to the progress of the services provided to them.

The companies supported by the SAGESSE Group share values of humanity and solidarity, forging links between generations and helping to maintain social consensus.

The SAGESSE Group, through its investment subsidiary Sagesse Retraite Santé (SRS), is the core business shareholder of DomusVi (one of the world's leading providers of housing, services and care dedicated to the elderly) and Almaviva (a private healthcare group).

SAGESSE is the main shareholder in Sedna Santé (a group of clinics), Sedna Canada (the government's leading partner and the largest private organization in Quebec), Sedna France (a private group of medical retirement residences), Arenadour (a spa group with nine spa centers in France) and Apt Renaissance (a project to revitalize the heart of the town with intergenerational housing).

The group, which today employs 60,000 people, is present in all segments of care for patients and frail people: medicalized / non-medicalized residences / Home Help and Care / MCO / Medical and Rehabilitation Care / Thermalism. The Sagesse group owns a real estate portfolio that supports the activities of its healthcare and medico-social subsidiaries. This dedicated real estate portfolio provides a support solution for operators.

To help build the healthcare of tomorrow, a dedicated subsidiary was set up in 2018 Majycc. Its objective is deployment in new technologies and digital to anticipate the upheavals induced by new technologies in our businesses and support the value creation of young e-health companies, which support frail people (illness, age, disability), their relatives and caregivers.
